Sitakunda, April 7, 2025: As part of the global general strike, Disari Youth Foundation Bangladesh organized a protest rally in Sitakunda Upazila. The event was led by the organization’s chairman, Advocate Md Sarowar Hossain Lovelo, and saw participation from various social, cultural, and religious organizations in the upazila.
The core message of this movement was: “The world stops for Palestine – no work, no school, until the genocide stops.” This emphasized a global call to halt all work and education until the ongoing genocide in Palestine is stopped.
The protest march started at 5 PM in Sitakunda Upazila Sadar and paraded through the town’s main streets. Following the march, a brief gathering was held where Advocate Mohammad Sarwar Hossain Lavlu stated, “The crimes against humanity that have been inflicted upon the people of Palestine for so long demand global condemnation. Through peaceful protests, we aim to draw the attention of the international community.”
Speakers at the event called for a united global movement in support of the Palestinian people and urged everyone to stand beside the oppressed.
Local political, social, and human rights leaders, students, and general citizens participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The overall coordination of the program was supervised by Lion Lecturer Md. Nazimuzzaman Rashed, Vice President (Administration) of Disari Youth Foundation Bangladesh and Acting General Secretary Lion Md Nur Khan.
